Cindy Witt
Northern California native country singer-songwriter Cindy Witt genuinely engages audiences with her unique voice and powerful presence. Previously the lead singer for the central valley’s popular country group, The Midnight Hour Band, Cindy who now resides in Wyoming, plays popular venues with her talented band and also acoustic showcases. Cindy’s music ranges from the modern sound of today’s country to the traditional as well, along with some classic rock. A mix that is sure to entertain any audience. Her songs always have an upbeat edge for the more lively crowd but with her large repertoire she can also play for the most intimate of settings. These days you can find The Cindy Witt Band playing at fairs, festivals, wineries, select clubs and also cowboy church services, which is one of her favorite places to share the talent in which she has been blessed.
Cindy's story is different yet worth knowing. She was raised on her parent's ranch west of Stockton, California and grew up listening to "good ole" country music, partly because her Dad set all the pre-sets on the AM radio in the ranch truck to the only country station in range, but mostly because she loved it! I guess you could say country music is in her blood since her grandfather and aunt were accomplished fiddle and piano players. Having an incredible voice at a young age, Cindy was encouraged to share her gift. She did just that by singing in the renowned St. Mary's High School Choir, later becoming a lead singer for a very popular country/classic rock group and also leading music at various church services. Cindy's ear for music came naturally along with her love for the agriculture lifestyle. This former 4H-er and rodeo barrel racer understands that growing up in the ranching industry gives you a broad perspective on life and instills in you the value of hard work and perseverance. Cindy has applied both of these philosophies into her singing and songwriting career where she has put pen to paper writing captivating lyrics which are about real life. Cindy says “I like to write moving songs that people can relate to in their own lives that also send a positive message.”
Fans are looking forward to the upcoming release of Cindy’s debut CD. The original songs are written or co-written by her. These songs will be sure to please many tastes since her music has a modern sound but still hails a classic feel, along with a little taste of Red Dirt music in the mix. Cindy’s distinctive style is sure to bring something fresh to the music scene.
